Guess what?! Even more boxing has been shut down as the coronavirus pandemic continues to force precautionary measures to be taken. The latest in the boxing cancellation world is now one of Mexico’s biggest promotional outfits, Zanfer Promotions, which has now officially nixed every one of its scheduled boxing cards until further notice.
This includes a card scheduled for Saturday night in Mexicali, Mexico where junior welterweight Jose Zepeda (31-2, 25 KOs) was due to headline against an opponent to be determined. I know, I know. Bummer for sure.
Zepeda, 30, made his last appearance last September on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin, scoring a unanimous 10-round decision over former titleholder Jose Pedraza. As of right now, of course, there’s no real indication on when this all might blow over and we return to our normal boxing programming, but you can expect that there won’t be anything on the horizon for the time being.
