There’s no new boxing to be found on the telly, but at least you’ll be able to see a boxer doing vaguely athletic things.
The British reality series “Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins,” which runs participants through the titular special forces’ training regime, recently revealed the cast for its fifth installment. In addition to some TV regulars and a YouTuber, the program will feature former footballer John Fashanu, world-champion Paratriathlete Lauren Steadman, and a familiar face in former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew.
The season premieres, and I quote, “soon.”
Bellew (30-3, 20 KO) made two bids for gold during his time at 175, dropping a majority decision to Nathan Cleverly and falling to Adonis Stevenson by TKO two years later. After moving to cruiserweight, he upset Ilunga Makabu for the WBC belt, knocked out BJ Flores in his first defense, and twice dispatched David Haye at heavyweight before his run-in with Usyk.
Look, we’re all starved for entertainment here, so I promise not to judge any of you who tune in. At least not to your faces.
