Josh Taylor is like every other fighter in the sport at the moment, sitting on the sideline pondering his next move. So while the Scottish champion is plotting what he surely expects to be a prosperous future once things return to action, he tells Sky Sports that he would love to land a fight against Manny Pacquiao one day soon.
“I would love to fight him. He is my hero, so it would be good to share a ring with him, that would be awesome. It would be good to fight him. That would be a dream come true, to share a ring with Manny Pacquiao.”
Taylor, 29, is currently waiting on when his postponed mandatory IBF title defense against Apinun Khongsong will actually take place, and that will serve as his first outing since topping Regis Prograis in the World Boxing Super Series finale last October.
The unified junior welterweight champion says he’ll look to take care of Apinun while Ramirez has his title defense before they both collide in another highly anticipated unification match — although the allure of fighting a living legend has its appeal.
