Starting this Friday, April 10, at 10 pm ET, Showtime will be opening up the vaults and bringing out some more classic fights, as “Showtime Boxing Classics” will air on Fridays through the rest of April at least.
This Friday night’s broadcast will feature one of the greatest fights in history, the 2005 consensus Fight of the Year, the Fight of the Decade for the 2000s, and simply put one of the most epic, unbelievable bouts of all time, the first meeting between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo.
The rematch between the two, which took place five months later and saw Corrales miss weight, will air directly after the first fight.
On April 17, Showtime will pull out another classic, the 1999 Ring Magazine Fight of the Year between Johnny Tapia and Paulie Ayala, and that will be followed by their rematch from 2000, as well.
April 24 will be a showcase for John Molina Jr bouts, first his 2014 Fight of the Year with Lucas Matthysse, followed by his 2013 fight with Mickey Bey, one of the great comebacks in recent memory.
