Eddie Hearn says he’s not interested in promoting Mike Tyson comeback

Mike Tyson continues to be the subject of almost daily updates, as the former heavyweight champion has made known his plans for a comeback of some type — likely just an exhibition, but there have been people talking him possibly actually fighting again.

Eddie Hearn admits he’s no stranger to promotional work that gets a negative reaction from the boxing world, like his YouTuber fights, but Hearn said a Tyson comeback is “not something he’s looking to do” as far as being associated as a promoter.

“Tyson looked fantastic on the pads but he’s 53. Look at his last fight against Kevin McBride. He won’t be able to compete at [a high level],” Hearn said to Sky Sports.

“It’s good to see him training. He’s in great shape. If it keeps him happy then why not keep training? I wouldn’t like to see him fight in the ring professionally.”

Tyson’s name has been linked to both former rival Evander Holyfield and fellow Brooklyn native Shannon Briggs for potential exhibition bouts.

UFC President Dana White, who has been friends with Tyson for years, has also said he doesn’t want to see Mike do anything serious or “crazy.”
