Devin Haney gets pointers from Floyd Mayweather in the gym

Haney is in the gym working on his craft as he prepares for his next outing.

WBC lightweight titleholder Devin Haney (24-0, 15 KOs) was just spotted back at the Mayweather Gym, getting some training and technique advice from none other than Floyd Mayweather himself. Although Floyd has suggested that his own recent training is just to stay in shape, and not to prepare for another comeback fight, he has been spending a lot of time working with young fighters.

So during this session streamed by Haney himself, you can watch Floyd impart some of his tricks of the trade to a younger generation of fighters. Haney, 21, is obviously a gifted fighter, but he was also basically gifted his title after Vasiliy Lomachenko was elevated to ‘Franchise Champion’ status.

Even still, Haney is at least talking the part, saying that he wants to square off against the other best lightweights in the world. And hopefully that’s not just talk as Haney has recently been entangled in a social media beef with Teofimo Lopez, with the only acceptable endgame being for them to ultimately meet inside the ring.
