Rising middleweight prospect Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams (5-0, 4 KOs) raised some eyebrows when he posted video footage of himself pummeling some poor over-matched sparring partner, and it didn’t go unnoticed by super middleweight titleholder Billy Joe Saunders.
In response to Williams’ sparring footage Saunders posted this message on Twitter:
You big useless Fraggle that poor man clearly can’t hold his hands up proper when I’m in US I’ll move you around we see what happens then . https://t.co/8wwKMCz0Gp

Williams, 24, would then respond with these words in this video message.
“Billy Joe Saunders calling me out because I went a little too hard in sparring, and I’m only four years in the sport. But ain’t this the same dude that’s suspended from boxing because he makes jokes about beating women? The woman-beater?! The woman-beater got something to say because I went kinda hard in sparring fresh off quarantine. I want to see you! Let me know when you make it in the United States. Let me know when you land, I’m not scared of you.”
Both Williams and Saunders would then take it a bit further by posting more messages to one another, with Williams ultimately writing:
“Billy Hoe Saunders, I haven’t forgot about you. Catch the flight to Houston so I can make and example out of you. [Anthony Fowler] bring your punk ass too mate.”
Williams and Fowler would then exchange unpleasantries in direct message form for a bit, with them both expressing interest in fighting one another. I suppose we’ll see if this actually goes anywhere.
