Zanfer Promotions is looking to hit the ground running. In addition to the previously announced June 6th show headlined by Emanuel Navarrete, president Fernando Beltran has revealed plans for weekend shows all through the month, featuring some of their biggest names competing behind closed doors.
The “likely” schedule:
- June 6th: Navarrete and derailed super lightweight prospect Pedro Campa
- June 13th: 21-year-old super lightweight Omar Aguilar and former champion Jackie Nava
- June 20th: Luis Nery and 19-year-old featherweight Alan David Picasso
- June 27th: Miguel Berchelt and WBO light flyweight champion Elwin Soto
According to the article, Navarrete, Berchelt, and Soto are not expected to defend their respective titles, so tough luck if you were hoping for Berchelt vs. Oscar Valdez on a month’s notice. TBA presently has all eight assignments
Beltran tells ESPN that they’ll be taking “extreme” safety precautions to protect the fighters and thanks the fans for their patience. An official announcement for the fights, which could take place in the TV Azteca studios in Mexico City, will come “very soon.”
