Thompson Boxing has announced that they have scheduled a July 26th PPV card that will feature lightweight prospect Michael Dutchover (13-1, 10 KOs) going against Jorge Marron Jr. (18-1, 6 KOs) in a scheduled eight rounder. The card will take place at the Omega Products Event Center in Corona, California with no fans in attendance. Also featured on the card will be Ruben Torres (13-1, 10 KOs) and a featherweight bout between Arnold Dinong (6-0, 1 KO) and Brandon Cruz (6-1, 4 KOs).

With California commissioner Andy Foster speaking on the card taking place during this raging pandemic, he expressed his enthusiasm for having live combat sports back in action.

“I’m excited about getting back, but I want to do it methodically and correctly so that the public’s health is protected,” said Foster, the executive director of CSAC. “Sports do not supersede the public’s health. They don’t. But if we can do it in a safe way, then sports serve a good cause, and we’re happy to be back with the protocols in place.”

Dutchover, 22, is coming off a stoppage loss to Thomas Mattice last September while Marron Jr. has won six straight since dropping a majority decision a couple years back. And as far as the PPV angle for this card, I’m just going to assume that it’s absolutely necessary to cover the finances, but I’m sure the $6.50 price tag will at least make it palatable for some.
