Matchroom Boxing are working on a trio of August dates for their return to the United States, including potential fights for Regis Prograis and Maurice Hooker.

ESPN reports that Matchroom have August 8, 15, and 22 — all Saturdays — in mind. This would also likely be the real kickstart back to action for DAZN, the streaming platform who air Matchroom and Golden Boy events. (Golden Boy are planning a July 24 fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr.)

Prograis and Hooker won’t be fighting one another, though that had been the plan for a scrapped April 17 card. The two former titleholders at 140 were natural opponents, but Hooker now plans to move up to welterweight after their side couldn’t get Prograis to agree on a catchweight.

A welterweight title fight between Cecilia Braekhus, the undisputed champion of the divison, and Jessica McCaskill is expected to be a co-feature fight on one of the August dates. The fight will be a 145-pound catchweight bout, or at least was planned to be before the COVID lockdown.
