WBA lightweight titleholder Gervonta Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) created a bit of a stir last night after posting some video of a sparring session on social media, really putting hands on Ivan Redkach (23-5-1, 18 KOs). Check out the clip for yourself.
Redkach obviously took exception to the footage being posted as it’s often an unwritten rule for sparring grounds to be a sacred place to hone one’s skills, and not intended to be for public consumption. That said, we see sparring footage in all different manners and contexts all the time, it just more about sportsmanship and respect. Think back to that whole Conor McGregor-Paulie Malignagi thing.
So in response to being the butt of Davis’ joke, Redkach seems to want to avenge the perceived insult by asking for more rounds against Tank.
Gervonta "Tank" Davis you still owe me two rounds ))) the deal was for 6 round and you left after the 4 round. You did the best 30 sec of yours and left. Sad I can’t show my side of the sparring because I followed the rules of your manager and didn’t do video

Davis obviously didn’t hesitate and said he’ll be back at the gym on Monday to give him what he wants, and he’ll be streaming their sparring on Instagram Live just in case you want to tune in.
I will be there Monday and I’m going live! https://t.co/LEFASncHuf

Honestly, this seems like a pride thing at this point for Redkach, and while I don’t knock the man for trying to stand up for himself, sometimes pride will get you fucked up.
