Notes: Isaac Dogboe is officially moving up to featherweight on Tuesday to face Chris Avalos, so I see no great reason to keep him here an extra week, so the former titleholder is out. Also it gave me ANYTHING to have as a headline for this post. In comes fellow Top Rank fighter Carlos Castro, who just fought on July 9 and stopped veteran Cesar Juarez in four. Castro’s a good looking fighter so far, hasn’t had huge tests yet, but that really goes for Fulton, Figueroa, and Leo, too, and Hovhannisyan and Rios have had tests, with mixed results. Past the top four you’re kinda just throwing darts at an order in this division at the moment, I think.

Notes: Sadly, the Estrada-Gonzalez rematch won’t be happening next after all. But Gonzalez is trying to make a fight at any rate, and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is set to face Amnat Ruenroeng on Aug. 1 in Thailand, so there’s at least some activity coming. (Srisaket will be fighting Ruenroeng at 122, actually, but it’s not looking like a permanent move.)
