Roy Jones Jr: I know Mike Tyson will do something crazy, I’ll do something crazy back

Jones talks his unexpected bout with the former heavyweight great.

Hall of Fame fighter Roy Jones Jr. answers a few questions about his upcoming bout against Mike Tyson during this interview with Fight Hub TV, and explains why he’ll be ready for anything in the ring once the bell sounds...

Jones on how this fight with Tyson came about:

“Called me, asked me if I would be willing to fight Mike, Mike wants to fight me. I said ‘Why not. Let’s go.’”

On what Tyson told him directly:

“Nothing, that he wanted to do an exhibition and he feel like I’m an easy person to make a fight with. I’m an easy person to deal with because I was my own boss for so long, so he feels like I’m a guy that can come, not bring all the boxing promoters and everything else into it, I can come to the table myself and we can make a deal and we can fight. He thought I was the easiest guy to make a deal with.”

On if he’s worried about Tyson doing something crazy in the ring:

“I know he will, that’s who Mike is, that’s why people wanna watch. We know he gonna do something crazy, we just don’t know what. Whether he tries to take my head off or whether he tries to bite my ear off, we know he’s gonna do something crazy, that’s why it’s so fun. We know he gonna do something crazy but guess what, I’ma do something crazy back! So, I mean, it is what it is.”

On if he’s started training camp:

“I been having camp in Pensacola, Florida. I’ve got a group of fighters and I’m training. So we all doing it right there.”

On if he’d be willing to fight Bernard Hopkins again in an exhibition:

“Won’t be no exhibition, we gotta fight for real. (If) we fighting, we fighting for real, for real. Like me and Tyson fighting for real, but me and Tyson don’t go on the record. But I know it’ll be for real because that’s Tyson. Bernard Hopkins, we going on the record.”
