Katie Taylor (15-0, 6 KOs) may not be in the fight we hoped to see her in, against Amanda Serrano, but she’s in a plenty good fight anyway as she’ll rematch Delfine Persoon (44-2, 18 KOs) on August 22nd.

The first time the two met last summer, the pair fought a 10-round battle that was really close. Scott Christ and I scored the fight 95-95 and 96-94 Persoon, respectively, and a lot of viewers thought thought Persoon deserved the win. Taylor would ultimately win a close majority decision, but now in the rematch looks to end all doubt about her superiority to Persoon as related by her promoter, Eddie Hearn.

“Many people thought Persoon deserved to win. She is so dangerous, she is relentless. Katie? Most people would say: ‘You were beat, I’m moving on’. But Katie said: ‘If there is any doubt, I want to put that out of people’s minds’.”

Persoon, 35, is most recently coming off a unanimous decision over Helen Joseph last November while Taylor, 34, took a decision over Christina Linardatou in the same month.
