The rumored and expected November pay-per-view meeting between WBC and IBF welterweight titleholder Errol Spence Jr and former two-division titlist Danny Garcia is signed and set for Nov. 21 on FOX pay-per-view, according to both fighters, who announced the fight via social media today:

Spence (26-0, 21 KO) will be defending both straps. He won the WBC title from Kell Brook back in May 2017, and unified that with the IBF title by beating Shawn Porter in Sept. 2019, which was Spence’s last fight.
Now 30, Spence is also coming off of a much bigger challenge, after crashing his car last fall, an incident that put him on the shelf even without the coronavirus lockdown. There had been rumors of Spence returning with a softer touch, a tune-up style fight, in the late spring or early summer, but instead he’s going right back in with a serious contender, and only fight night will tell us if he’s the same fighter he was before.
Garcia (36-2, 21 KO) has won two straight, blasting out Adrian Granados in seven rounds in Apr. 2019, followed by a January win over Ivan Redkach. That Jan. 25 date was meant to be a Spence-Garcia fight, in fact, but with Spence sidelined Garcia chose to keep the date, which he’s since said he’s glad he did, so that he hadn’t been sitting out so long. He beat Redkach over 12 rounds, looking to get in work against a good southpaw in the event he faced Spence or Manny Pacquiao next.
Garcia may be just 3-2 in his last five fights, but he’s not old at 32, and he was competitive in losses to Keith Thurman in 2017 and Shawn Porter in 2018, hardly blown away by either man.
No venue was mentioned by either, and we have to assume everyone is operating under the idea that this will be a spectator-less event in November, which is four months away but you just can’t make a fight right now without that being the reality you’re facing. If they can sell tickets to it in two or three months, they will, surely, but right now expect a no-fans environment.
Either way, a good fight to add to the schedule!
