No movement from last week’s fights, but some tweaking at 140 in this week’s rankings update.

Notes: Did some reshuffling here, as I do on occasion because boxing — or at least perception, and in a sport like this perception is a sizable percentage of doing rankings, in all honesty — can sometimes change by things like inactivity, ineffectiveness, or various other “little things” as much as wins and losses. Out is 40-year-old Eduard Troyanovsky, who hasn’t faced a real opponent since Oct. 2018, when he lost a close decision to Kiryl Relikh. He still looked capable enough in that fight, and he’s a former titleholder, but I don’t know that he’s really in the discussion anymore. He’s fought just once since Relikh and while it was a win for the Eurasian Boxing Parliament title, I think there’s a good chance Troyanovsky, who is old and has only fought outside Russia once since 2010, will never be in another meaningful fight. So in comes Jack Catterall, the 27-year-old British southpaw in line with the WBO for a title shot. I also bumped Jose Zepeda — who fights Tuesday — up to the No. 6 spot, where realistically he probably should have been already.

Upcoming Fights: (6) Jose Zepeda vs Kendo Castaneda, July 7 ... (2) Jose Ramirez vs (5) Viktor Postol, TBA

Notes: Normally on an ordered fight, I’d go ahead and chuck it into the “Upcoming Fights” section as a “TBA,” just for kicks. But I’m so skeptical that we see Luke Campbell vs Ryan Garcia that I’m not bothering yet. But here’s a little reminder that it has been ordered by the WBC, effectively as an eliminator to face Devin Haney.

Upcoming Fights: (7) Jorge Linares vs (8) Javier Fortuna, Aug. 28 ... (1) Vasiliy Lomachenko vs (2) Teofimo Lopez, TBA

Upcoming Fights: (3) Jamel Herring vs Jonathan Oquendo, July 14 ... (5) Oscar Valdez vs Jayson Velez, July 21

Upcoming Fights: (9) Ryan Walsh vs Jazza Dickens, TBA

Upcoming Fights: TBA

Upcoming Fights: (2) Luis Nery vs Aaron Alameda [junior featherweight], TBA ... (3) Nordine Oubaali vs (4) Nonito Donaire, TBA

Upcoming Fights: (9) Cristofer Rosales vs Jeno Tonte, July 17 ... (2) Julio Cesar Martinez vs McWilliams Arroyo, Aug. 15 ... (9) Junto Nakatani vs (10) Giemel Magramo, Aug. 21 ... (1) Kosei Tanaka vs Kazuto Ioka [junior bantamweight], TBA

Upcoming Fights: (10) Jonathan Gonzalez vs TBA, Aug. 21

Upcoming Fights: TBA
