Jessica McCaskill will have her work cut out for her when she takes on Cecilia Braekhus this weekend in Tulsa, but should she pull of the win she’s hoping for a chance to avenge 2017 decision loss to Katie Taylor, who herself is in tough against Delfine Persoon in her next outing.
“I would love the Taylor rematch and a chance to get my revenge, and definitely in a place like Wembley Stadium on a huge bill,” said McCaskill. “If we have fans again that stadium has 100,000 people and that’s the kind of crowd that needs to be at that kind of fight. I have my eyes on Taylor and I want that fight.”
McCaskill, 35, continued by saying she still receives a lot of fan support from the UK, and that in her previous fight against Taylor she learned that she can compete on this level. Regarding Taylor, McCaskill also says that Taylor learned a valuable lesson in her close win over Persoon when they last fought, and that she can’t afford to take anybody lightly.
But before McCaskill can even really think about a rematch with Taylor, undefeated titleholder Cecilia Braekhus lays in wait, and she certainly won’t be a pushover or looking to just hand all of her belts over.
