During this video conversation with the WBC, lightweight Ryan Garcia talks about why he’s hoping to finalize a fight against Luke Campbell, saying a lot of other lightweights have been talking a big game while facing subpar opposition.
“I hope to get this fight with Luke Campbell made,” Garcia said. “This should show people that I’m not all talk. I want the good guys at lightweight. All these other fighters, they’re talking a lot, talking a lot, but I see who they’re fighting. They’re not going to fight anybody like I’m going to do against Luke Campbell, you know what I’m saying?
“Just look at the facts. I’m gonna fight Luke Campbell and I’m gonna show the people I will beat him, and relatively easy. But I cannot wait for this opportunity. I’m here to show the world I’m a great fighter. This is the time to do it. Hopefully we get this fight made.”
Garcia (20-0, 17 KO) and Campbell (20-3, 16 KO) have reportedly reached an agreement in principle and are looking to fight in November.
