Eleider Alvarez and Joe Smith Jr are all set for tomorrow night’s WBO light heavyweight eliminator (ESPN+, 7:30 pm ET), with both fighters making weight and looking fit on the scales in Las Vegas.
Alvarez (25-1, 13 KO) came in at 174½, with Smith (25-3, 20 KO) at 174¾, both under the 175-pound limit. The winner will get a crack at the currently vacant WBO title, which Canelo Alvarez won from Sergey Kovalev last November and then immediately vacated. The other eliminator will be between Umar Salamov and Maksim Vlasov, which has yet to be officially scheduled.
Tomorrow’s card will also see the return of former secondary middleweight titleholder Rob Brant (25-2, 17 KO), who will face Vitalii Kopylenko (28-2, 16 KO) in a 10-round bout. Brant weighed in at 161¼, with Kopylenko at 159½. There will be another 10-round fight between junior welterweight prospects Julian Rodriguez (19-0, 12 KO) and Anthony Laureano (13-0, 4 KO), plus fan favorite Clay Collard (8-2-3, 3 KO) returns in an eight-round middleweight bout against Maurice Williams (7-1, 3 KO), featherweight Duke Ragan will turn pro, and much more.
Bad Left Hook will have live coverage tomorrow night beginning at 7:30 pm ET.
