Shawn Porter and Sebastian Formella made weight today in Los Angeles, meaning tomorrow night’s PBC card (FOX, 8 pm ET) is set and ready to go.
The 32-year-old Porter (30-3-1, 17 KO) is aiming to show he’s still a top man at 147 pounds. The former two-time titleholder hasn’t fought since a rugged and exciting loss to Errol Spence Jr in Sept. 2019, and now has the 33-year-old Formella (22-0, 10 KO) lined up. The unbeaten German is taking a major step up in competition here, but tells us he thinks he can prove that he belongs in the upper echelon.
Porter came in at 146½, with Formella at 146, both under the limit. Porter-Formella is set for 12 rounds and is a WBC eliminator.
The co-feature will pit crazy tall junior middleweight Sebastian Fundora (14-0-1, 9 KO) against Nathaniel Gallimore (21-4-1, 17 KO) in a 10-round fight. Fundora, 22, is anywhere between 6’4” and 6’6” depending on what day you ask someone and what makes it easiest to get him a fight. He weighed in at 153½, with veteran Gallimore, 32, at 152¾.
Junior middleweight prospect Joey Spencer (10-0, 7 KO) will also be in action, as the 20-year-old PBC favorite faces Shawn West (5-1, 3 KO), a 31-year-old Iowa fighter. Spencer weighed 155¾, with West at 154½.
Bad Left Hook will have full live coverage tomorrow night starting at 8 pm ET. There are also “postlim” fights at 10 pm ET on FS1, led by Livan Navarro (11-0, 7 KO) vs Justin DeLoach (18-4, 9 KO) in a 10-round welterweight fight.
