Jose Ramirez, Viktor Postol make weight for world title fight

Ramirez defends his unified titles against Postol tomorrow night on ESPN+.

Unified 140lb titleholder Jose Ramirez is officially good to go for tomorrow evening’s WBC and WBO world title defense, where Ramirez will defend the belts against Ukrainian challenger Viktor Postol.

Both fighters hit the scale today at the bubble at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and can be viewed above thanks to our friends at Fight Hub TV. Viktor Postol was up first and officially weighed-in at 139.7lbs and Jose Ramirez would follow, tipping the scale at 139.8lbs himself. Ramirez and Postol both appeared to be in pretty good condition for the bout.

After the weigh-in both fighters faced off for one final time (at a safe distance with masks on) before they slug it out tomorrow night on ESPN+. Ramirez will be back in the ring for the first time in over a year when he last stopped Maurice Hooker in July 2019, while Postol is coming off an even longer layoff, last outpointing Mohamed Mimoune in April 2019. At 36 years old, this well could be Postol’s last real shot at recapturing a major world title.
