This evening beginning at 6 pm ET with prelims on FS1 and continuing at 8 pm ET on FOX for the main card, Erislandy Lara returns to face Greg Vendetti in a Premier Boxing Champions main event, headlining a five-fight card in total.
The 37-year-old Lara will be defending the WBA’s secondary “world” title at 154 pounds, with an eye on facing the Jermell Charlo-Jeison Rosario winner after their Sept. 26 PPV bout. Lara really doesn’t figure to be tested against Vendetti, a 30-year-old from Massachusetts whose only fight against a world-level opponent was a second round TKO loss to Michel Soro in 2018.
The co-feature also got a late change, as Alfredo Angulo will now be facing Vladimir Hernandez instead of Caleb Truax, who pulled out with dehydration issues. The best fight on the card is really the “special attraction” on the FOX portion, pitting unbeaten prospects Abram Martinez and Luis Arcon against one another in an eight-round junior welterweight bout.
We’ll be here with live coverage and updates for the whole show, so join us this evening!
