Dan Rafael reports that former two-division champion Jose Pedraza will make his second headlining appearance in the Bubble on September 19th, taking on Javier Molina in a matchup previously planned for May 9th.
As we’ve mentioned before, it’s a nice bit of matchmaking. Pedraza (27-3, 13 KO) is still looking to establish himself as a legitimate 140-pounder after a loss to Jose Zepeda and recent victory over the very overmatched Mikkel LesPierre, and Molina (22-2, 9 KO) represents a legitimate challenge. “El Intocable” is 5-0 since a 2016 loss to Jamal James, smashing Hiroki Okada in 65 seconds last November and subsequently handing Amir Imam a loss in the latter’s Top Rank debut.
The card will, however, have some competition. Showtime is set to air a card featuring Erickson Lubin vs. Terrell Gausha, Tugstsogt Nyambayar vs. Eduardo Ramirez, and the latest from top propsect Jaron “Boots” Ennis. Bob Arum and Co. better scrounge up a nice co-feature if they don’t want to get eclipsed.
