It’s time. Today, streaming live at 4 p.m. ET, lightweights Gervonta Davis and rival antagonist Rolando Romero announce their December 5th fight, which will air live on Showtime PPV from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Needsless to say this fight has been years in the making for Romero, who has consistently called out Mayweather Promotion’s top star as he seeks to make a name for himself under the banner. Romero has been pretty consistent in his insults for Davis, so I’d be pretty disappointing if there wasn’t at least some entertaining trash talk for this opening presser.
For his part, Davis hasn’t much responded publicly to Rolly’s provocations, instead implying through his social media accounts that he’s just quietly taking care of business in the gym as he looks to shut Romero up in the ring with blistering ferocity.
