According to Mike Coppinger’s sources, Devin Haney will get the notable fight he desires as he’s come to terms with Joseph Diaz Jr. for a December 4th WBC lightweight title fight that will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout will stream live on DAZN.

We’ve been aware this fight has been in the works ever since Ryan Garcia pulled out of his fight against Diaz with a hand injury, but nothing is ever for certain in this business and there was always potential for it not to happen for any number of reasons.

Haney (26-0, 15 KOs) who’s mostly been on the outside looking in with respect to getting big fights, immediately pressed Diaz (32-1-1, 15 KOs) on social media to take the fight once Garcia was sidelined, and since Haney does currently hold the WBC’s world title it was a clear and obvious fight to make (like, it would’ve been a clear and obvious duck for Diaz to skirt this fight so long as the money was right). And as a credit to Diaz, he’s taken the fight and apparently signed the dotted line.

Early predictions, anyone?
