Caleb Plant eager to prove everyone wrong by beating Canelo, plans to be right up in his face

Plant says he’s ready to upset the odds by taking out the Mexican star.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

With the fighters making their grand arrivals in Las Vegas ahead of Saturday’s undisputed super middleweight title between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant, Plant quickly catches up with reporters to discuss how he’s feeling leading into the big fight. Check out what Plant had to say to the boxing media below.

Plant on Canelo being the heavy favorite in this fight

“The oddsmakers can have me as the underdog, I’ve been the underdog my whole life and I’ve been proving ‘em wrong my whole life. So at the end of the day those are just numbers, they’ve been wrong before, they’re wrong now.”

On if he believes Canelo is looking past him

“I think so. I can’t speak for him and the only person I can speak for is myself and my team. But Saturday night, Nov. 6th, he’s gonna find out. For sure I’ma be right up in his face.”

On if he thinks this fight will resemble Mayweather-Canelo

“It don’t look like any other fight but Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant. That’s it.”
