Devin Haney calls Teofimo Lopez his biggest lightweight threat, then Gervonta Davis

Haney says the only way to settle his dispute with Teofimo Lopez is inside the ring.

WBC lightweight titleholder Devin Haney says he’s not getting all riled up by Teofimo Lopez’s taunting about being undisputed lightweight champion, but instead says Lopez knows they eventually need to meet in order to settle things in the ring.

Haney calls Lopez a ‘liar’ and accuses him of constantly changing his story to skirt a fight against him. Even still, Haney says Lopez will have to meet him in the ring to figure out what’s what.

“The only way to settle that is for us to fight. I see Teofimo as the No. 1 threat then ‘Tank’ Davis. I feel like ‘Tank’ is really a 130lbs fighter. He had trouble with Yuriorkis Gamboa moving up in weight - he is a lot smaller than the other guys at 135lbs.”

As things stand, Lopez is currently lined up to take on George Kambosos Jr in an IBF mandatory title defense, which leaves Haney without a marquee opponent as both Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis seemingly have their attention elsewhere.

So while it doesn’t appear we’re getting the lightweight round robin started imminently, the top lightweights are publicly acknowledging that will will have to face one another. Let’s all just hope that it’s sooner than later.
