Queensberry Promotions have announced a batch of domestic title fights and other returns for a March 26-27 doubleheader on BT Sport, from London’s Copper Box Arena.
On March 26, Akeem Ennis-Brown (14-0, 1 KO) will defend the British and Commonwealth junior welterweight titles against Sam Maxwell (14-0, 11 KO) in the main event. Junior featherweight Brad Foster will also return, and unbeaten welterweights Danny Ball (9-0-1, 4 KO) and Sam Gilley (11-0, 5 KO) will square off in a 10-rounder. Bantamweight Dennis McCann and heavyweight David Adeleye will also be in action.
On March 27, Willy Hutchinson (13-0, 9 KO) will face Lennox Clarke (19-1-1, 7 KO) for the British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles, both currently vacant, and Chris Jenkins (22-3-3, 8 KO) will defend the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles against Ekow Essuman (14-0, 5 KO). The show will also have returns for Nathan Gorman, Louie Lynn, Mark Chamberlain, and Eithan James, plus debuts for Umar Khan and Stephen Adentan.
Right now it looks like neither show will be available on ESPN+ in the States, but that could change. All Queensberry shows were on the service until last summer, at which point it became more of a pick-and-choose situation. I’ve asked and gotten no exact answer on that, but Queensberry did have Lyndon Arthur vs Anthony Yarde, for instance, available as a PPV on FITE TV for U.S. viewers. So we’ll see how that shakes out, but there are a bunch of good domestic matchups here, solid cards at that level.
