Face off: Joseph Parker and Junior Fa go nose-to-nose at weigh-in for Saturday fight

Joseph Parker and Junior Fa are set for their big clash in Auckland.

Saturday’s heavyweight showdown in Auckland is set and ready to go, as the fighters weighed in on Friday in New Zealand for their bout set to stream live on DAZN.

The 29-year-old Parker (27-2, 21 KO) came in at 240 pounds even, with 31-year-old Fa (19-0, 10 KO) in at 260¼.

For Parker, that’s his lowest weight since his 2018 fight against Anthony Joshua, but not dramatically so or anything. In his last four fights between AJ and now, Parker has been at 242½, 240¾, 241½, and 245¼.

As for Fa, he’s also about where he normally is, a bit heavier than average but nothing that figures to be a problem in and of itself. He hasn’t fought since Nov. 2019, when he weighed in at 267½ and looked a bit sluggish against Devin Vargas. But in the fight fights before that one, he came in at 256½, 251½, 254¾, 254½, and 259½. He’s been as heavy as 279¾ on the scales in the past.
