Amateur standout Keyshawn Davis made a successful pro debut on tonight’s Canelo vs Yildirim card, stopping Lester Brown in the second round of their lightweight bout.

Davis, 22, is a southpaw out of Norfolk, and was considered a top medal home for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, but he’s got his sights on pro stardom now, and could wind up being faster tracked than a lot of guys.

The prelims for the card in Miami also saw super middleweight prospect Alexis Espino improve to 7-0 (5 KO) with a fifth round stoppage win over Ashton Sykes (5-4, 1 KO), while junior welterweight Aaron Aponte went to 2-0 (1 KO) with a four-round sweep of Harry Gigliotti (6-2, 3 KO), who was dropped in the fourth round and also had a point deducted for a headbutt.
