Shakur Stevenson didn’t succeed in enforcing a mandatory shot at the WBO junior lightweight title just yet, but he is awaiting the winner of the overdue Feb. 27 clash between titlist Jamel Herring and Carl Frampton, and he’s got his favorite locked in:
Just bet 2k on Jamel beating Frampton
— Shakur Stevenson (@ShakurStevenson) February 8, 2021
It is expected that the winner of Herring (22-2, 10 KO) and Frampton (28-2, 16 KO) will have to face Stevenson (15-0, 8 KO), who vacated at 126 to move up to 130 last year, feeling he couldn’t get good fights at featherweight.
Herring-Frampton is set to take place in the United Kingdom. There’s no concrete venue set just yet, but that isn’t the type of warning sign it might be in normal times. It’s just about getting a place to hold the fight, which will be easy to set up on short notice with no tickets being sold or anything. If all else fails, you figure it takes place at BT Sport studios, as many Queensberry Promotions cards have since the return of boxing last year.
