What better way to start a new month than with some bad news? MTK Global announced today that Chantelle Cameron’s March 20th title defense against Melissa Hernandez, which was set to support the vacant WBO cruiserweight title fight between Lawrence Okolie and Krzysztof Glowacki, has been postponed after “Wham Bam Chan” suffered an injury.

i’ve had to stop trainin for a couple of weeks Hopefully the fight will be rescheduled ASAP https://t.co/AD6PZlbDmi
Cameron (13-0, 7 KO) may or may not ultimately get the Katie Taylor fight she wants, but she claimed her first world title last October with a one-sided decision over Adriana Araujo. Hernandez (23-7-3, 7 KO), her mandatory challenger, has not competed since April of 2019.
That undercard slot will now be occupied by a rescheduled super welterweight clash pitting Anthony Fowler (13-1, 10 KO) against Jorge Fortea (21-2-1, 7 KO). The pair were slated to meet on the February 20th David Avanesyan-Josh Kelly undercard before Fowler tested positive for COVID. That, in turn, led Robbie Davies Jr. to face and ultimately lose to Gabriel Valenzuela that evening instead, so there’s precedent for Fowler to stay on guard.
