Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade will defend his WBO middleweight title against Liam Williams, with Matchroom announcing the fight for April 17 on DAZN.
Andrade-Williams will go head-to-head with the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren PPV from Triller, which probably won’t upset too many people. Paul-Askren has an audience (a bigger one than Andrade-Williams), but diehard fans will probably be happy to save some money and have something more serious to watch.
Andrade (29-0, 18 KO) last fought in Jan. 2020, beating a way over-matched Luke Keeler via ninth round TKO in Miami. Williams (23-2-1, 18 KO) has been calling out Andrade for a while, and has been on a good run since moving up from 154, winning five straight fights at middleweight since 2018, and getting stoppages in all of those fights. He’s looked dominant, but the competition hasn’t been Andrade, either.
It’s a good fight, the best Andrade was probably going to get right now, and a big shot for Williams, obviously.
