Queensberry Promotions’ upcoming 1-2 punch lost a bit of steam today, as an undisclosed injury forced Akeem Ennis-Brown out of his March 26th main event against Sam Maxwell.
UPDATE: An injury has unfortunately forced Akeem Ennis Brown to withdraw from Friday’s scheduled clash with Sam Maxwell.

Both shows this weekend are still scheduled to go ahead and updates will follow.
Ennis-Brown (14-0, 1 KO) vs. Maxwell (14-0, 11 KO) was as Scott put it, “[g]ood domestic-level fighters in a good domestic matchup.” Both are among BoxRec’s top 10 British super lightweights and have done quite well for themselves on the local circuit; Ennis-Brown notably won the British and Commonwealth titles last September with a decision over Philip Bowes. It’s a shame to see it fall apart.
Luckily for Frank Warren and co., there are still plenty of fights to go around. Sam Gilley meets Danny Ball in a clash of undefeated young welterweights, WBO #1 super middleweight contender Zach Parker makes his promotional debut against the durable Vaughn Alexander, and 20-year-old bantamweight Dennis McCann returns to action.
Unfortunately for us Yanks, we still don’t get to see any of those.
