Regis Prograis picks winners for Jose Ramirez vs Josh Taylor, Manny Pacquiao vs Mikey Garcia

The former titleholder breaks down his thoughts on some upcoming fights.

During this interview with Fight Hype, former junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis gives his quick analysis of the upcoming undisputed title fight between Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez before then talking a bit about Manny Pacquiao going against Mikey Garcia.

Prograis on the Taylor-Ramirez fight:

“I think Josh Taylor wins. I think decision. You know, Jose is tough but I think he can definitely be outboxed. He had two fights that he was getting outboxed and stuff like that, he just keep coming forward. With the Postol fight and with the Zepeda fight he was getting outboxed, and then Josh Taylor is big and he’s strong and he’s a southpaw.

“I don’t think Josh Taylor should go in there and brawl with him, like cojones, you know, because he’s Scottish and Scottish people they like to fight and shit like that. So if he goes in there and does that, I don’t say he’ll lose the fight but he’ll be playing into Ramirez’s hands. But if he fuckin’ go out there and keep a long southpaw jab on him, hit him with the one-two, I think he’ll beat him.”

On his thoughts about a matchup between Mikey Garcia and Manny Pacquiao:

“I don’t know, man. That’s a good fight. I mean, of course for me I would say all the way Pacquiao because he’s a fuckin’ legend — you can never just go against a legend and stuff like that. But the only thing is the age, the youth factor in Mikey’s favor. And then Mikey sparred him a bunch from what I understand...so probably knows his style. So I think it’ll be an entertaining fight but I still roll with Pacquiao.”
