Eimantas Stanionis got a good test tonight from veteran Thomas Dulorme, but the Lithuanian welterweight stayed undefeated with a unanimous decision win on Showtime.

Stanionis (13-0, 9 KO) had to make adjustments and pick things up after a good start from Dulorme (25-5-1, 16 KO), and he was able to do that, doing enough clear damage and landing at a better rate, though Dulorme did out-work him in terms of volume, and kept Stanionis from applying the level of pressure he might have wanted.

Stanionis won on scores of 115-113, 116-112, and 117-111 in a WBA eliminator, which could set up a fight with someone or other, probably, eventually, when PBC feel like getting around to it. I mean the WBA. Yes. They call the shots.

Bad Left Hook had the fight 115-113 for Stanionis, who won the last four rounds on our card, opening a cut on Dulorme, who said after the 11th round he couldn’t see. Stanionis made a charge in the 12th to look for something big; no knockdown came and neither did a finish, but he put his stamp on the fight there and sealed a good step-up performance.

Stanionis noted this was the first time his fight was shown live back home in Lithuania. “It was big pressure, you know what I mean? But I was excited and wanted to test what kind of level I can achieve, and what kind of fighters I can compete with. I think I’m top 10. It’s my opinion, but I think I can hang with top guys. I need experience.”

“If they say I’ll fight them, I’ll get in training camp and go 100 percent prepared,” Stanionis said of possibly fighting a champion at 147.
