With former heavyweight titleholder Andy Ruiz back on the road to redemption following his last performance against Anthony Joshua, he’s currently scheduled to take on Chris Arreola in a May 1 main event by PBC on FOX. And in an effort to build some buzz for the heavyweight bout, PBC on FOX releases it’s first episode of Fight Camp, showcasing behind the scenes footage of both fighters leading into the bout.

To begin we start with Ruiz, who has now aligned himself with Canelo Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso in an effort to rebound by his latest loss. Reynoso says he’s been trying to work with Ruiz on utilizing more leg and waist movement into his style, which of course necessitates Ruiz fighting at a leaner weight.

“My mentality’s different,” says Ruiz. “I’m more disciplined, I’m more focused. Most important thing is I know what I want and I know what I need to accomplish. In the first (Joshua) fight I got down, I got back up. That’s exactly what I did after my last defeat. I got down, I got up and now we heading on the right track.”

On the other side of things is Chris Arreola, a former world title contender who still has dreams of winning a major belt despite falling short three times before.

“There’s no shame in getting knocked down,” Arreola says. “None at all. The shame is not getting back up. It just made me want to win even more. It just made me want to be a better version of myself. That’s why I changed and came to train with Joe Goossen, because I needed it. I needed a change.”
