Nestled between Murodjon Akhmadaliev’s stoppage of Ryoske Iwasa and Jamel Herring’s rout of Carl Frampton last Saturday, top IBF featherweight contender Kid Galahad revealed that his vacant title fight against Jazza Dickens will take place on the May 8th Canelo Alvarez-Billy Joe Saunders card.

MTK won the purse bid in February.

June 2019 saw Galahad (27-1, 16 KO) drop a narrow split decision to Josh Warrington in his first bid for gold, only to receive a final eliminator bout with Claudio Marrero as a consolation prize. He wound up stopping the dangerous Dominican the following February to earn another crack at Warrington, who wound up vacating the belt in an ultimately futile attempt to fight WBA “world” champ Xu Can.

This opened the door for Dickens (30-3, 11 KO), who’s won eight straight since consecutive losses to Guillermo Rigondeaux and Thomas Patrick Ward. 2020 proved his most successful year to date, as he defeated Leigh Wood and Ryan Walsh to claim victory in MTK’s Golden Contract tournament.
