UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou tells TMZ that he’s sincerely open the idea of making a crossover to boxing, saying that boxing has always been one of his dreams and believes that he’ll eventually make the move.

And should Ngannou make the move over to boxing he says he’s not looking for a novelty fight, but rather wants to take on who most consider the best heavyweight in the world in Tyson Fury.

“I’m open to that. Remember boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire, the dream inside me and I believe at some point, I’m gonna make a step. I don’t want to fight Mike Tyson but I would like to fight another heavyweight boxer as such as Tyson Fury.”

Ngannou is thought to be currently lined up for what would be a huge UFC fight against Jon Jones, while Fury is currently in negotiations for an undisputed heavyweight title unification against Anthony Joshua. That would seem to suggest that any potential Ngannou-Fury fight isn’t something that’s going to happen in the near future, but with novelty fights being something of a craze these days, it’s certainly not the most outlandish idea.
