Ishe Smith says nothing good can come of Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul fight

The former Mayweather Promotions fighter isn’t a fan of seeing Floyd stoop to this level.

Former TMT fighter Ishe Smith has come out to make it known that he’s not a fan of the sideshows boxing has been producing with the likes of YouTube starts Logan and Jake Paul. And as Floyd Mayweather himself is set to fight Logan Paul in an upcoming boxing exhibition match, Smith wonders — much like myself — what real benefit there is to events like this.

“Honestly, Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever to live. You can argue and debate, but he’s in that argument,” stated Smith. “He even a better businessman, but he doesn’t need these events. There’s nothing good that can come by them. He rarely trained hard for Conor [McGregor]. It wasn’t your typical [fight].”

Smith would then make reference to the recent uproar during the press conference for Mayweather-Paul, when Logan’s brother Jake pulled a prank by stealing Mayweather’s hat and running off with it. Many believed it to be a staged publicity stunt, but Smith assures everyone that Floyd was actually truly pissed off by the antics, saying he’s known Floyd since he was 10 years old.

“He was p—ed off very bad. He doesn’t need to sell this fight. It will do over a million buys. I just don’t think he needs to be doing these, in my opinion.”

Of course this upcoming event doesn’t need Smith’s endorsement to come off, and it certainly looks like this will be happening one way or another. I mean, I myself have openly questioned the intrigue of this fight as I don’t think anyone can truly believe a man that lost to KSI is now going to beat Floyd Mayweather. But, hey, if there wasn’t any money in this fight it probably wouldn’t be happening in the first place.
