Earlier today, it was reported that Billy Joe Saunders and his team had a problem with the ring size for Saturday’s fight with Canelo Alvarez at AT&T Stadium in Texas, and then there were reports that John Ryder was on his way into Dallas and ready to step in to replace Saunders should push come to withdrawal on Saunders’ end.

But it looks, predictably, like things are going ahead as planned, as Saunders has updated via social media and sounds ready to fight.

“Just want to say I’m pleased the issue is sorted,” Saunders said on his Instagram story. “The ring is not a problem. Thumbs are up.”

It’s not fully clear if this has actually been “sorted” to what Team Saunders wanted, but it was and still is most likely (by far) that the issue will be settled, and Saunders sounds content with where things are at. Canelo has said he doesn’t really care about the size of the ring, and on we go.
