Salita Promotions wins purse bid for Evgeny Shvedenko vs Vladimir Shishkin final eliminator

Shvedenko is ranked third, Shishkin eighth by the sanctioning body

IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant appears to be all-in on a unification match with Canelo Alvarez, and whoever wins that will have a mandatory challenger waiting. Earlier today, Salita Promotions won the rights to stage a final eliminator between unbeatens Evgeny Shvedenko and Vladimir Shishkan.

The Russian-born, German-based Shvedenko (15-0, 6 KO) has spent the entirety of his 5.5-year career on the European circuit, most notably defeating former title challenger Nadjib Mohammedi in 2019. He managed to squeeze in two fights last year, the most recent of which saw him take a wide decision over Artur Osipov in December.

Shishkin (12-0, 7 KO), ranked eighth to Shvedenko’s third, is a three-time ShoBox veteran who beat DeAndre Ware, Ulises Sierra, and Sena Agbeko during his time on the program. After that last win, Scott said the 29-year-old was due for a step up, which he’ll seemingly get against Shvedenko.

With Salita at the helm, it wouldn’t surprise me to see this show up on some big-name undercard later this year.
