Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul agree to fight in 10 oz gloves for exhibition match

Both are supposedly seeking a better chance at a knockout.

With Floyd Mayweather set for Sunday’s exhibition fight against YouTube star Logan Paul, both fighters agreed to downsize the size of their gloves for the bout from 12 oz to 10 oz . Sky Sports reports that Mayweather still prefers for them to use even smaller gloves, 8 oz, in an attempt to make a knockout more likely.

“Well at first, they were talking about 14 ounce gloves, 16 ounce gloves. From the beginning, I wanted eight ounce gloves for me as well as Logan Paul. Hopefully it can change to eight ounce. It was 10, then it changed to 12. Now we’re back to 10. Good, that’s how I want it.”

For Logan Paul’s part, he believes his power is being underrated and thinks that Mayweather will be in shock once he hits him for the first time — assuming he cleanly hits Mayweather at all which would be a surprise.

And for those who would question why this fight is even happening in the first place, Mayweather makes it clear that he’s in a comfortable position where he can do whatever he wants, not needing to fight out of necessity. This is all just fun and games for the retired boxer — not to mention a hefty check.
