We learned the date this past weekend, and now Showtime’s revealed the location and part of the supporting cast. Their August 29th Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley card will take place at Cleveland, Ohio’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (home of the Cavaliers) and see Amanda Serrano defend her featherweight titles against WBC super bantamweight champ Yamileth Mercado

Woodley (0-0 boxing, 19-7-1 MMA) will move up from 170 pounds, where he enjoyed an impressive reign as UFC champion, to 190 pounds for this catchweight bout. He’s lost four straight in the cage, most recently losing an absolute slugfest to Vicente Luque, but is Paul’s (3-0, 3 KO) most dangerous opponent to date thanks to the hellacious power in his right hand.

“I grew up going to Cavs, Browns and Indians games on the weekends, dreaming as a little kid of one day being in a position to put on a show for my hometown like they did,” said Paul. “On August 29, that dream comes true. My biggest challenge to date, in front of the city that made me, on pay per view for the world to see me knockout a UFC champion. I’m also thrilled to have Amanda Serrano on this card. She stands out as the most prolific KO artist in women’s boxing. What a night this is going to be!”

“I’m a grown ass man,” said Woodley. “I don’t play games with kids. They brought me in to take the trash out. You’re welcome!”

Serrano (40-1-1, 30 KO) continues her campaign at 126, where she stopped Yamila Esther Reynoso for the WBO belt in 2019 and subsequently dominated Heather Hardy to add the WBC belt to her collection. After a couple stay-busy fights, she returned to the division in March and finished Daniela Bermudez with a body shot.

The 23-year-old Mercado (18-2, 5 KO) makes her U.S. debut on a six-fight winning streak, which includes two defenses of the belt she claimed by avenging her most recent loss to Fatuma Zarika.
