Junior middleweight Anthony Fowler is still set to return Saturday at Matchroom’s Fight Camp show on DAZN, but he’ll have a short-notice opponent.

Roberto Garcia is out with a back injury, so Rico Mueller (28-3-1, 19 KO) will take on Fowler in a 10-round bout with a regional WBA title on the line. The last part is important mainly because it helps in the WBA rankings, and Fowler (14-1, 11 KO) is hoping to target a world title shot sooner than later.

Mueller, 33, just fought on July 10, stopping a journeyman opponent in three rounds in Germany. He’s been a European-level sort of professional, and he’s mostly fought at lower weights, losing to Jeff Horn at 147 in 2016 and Jeremias Ponce at 140 in 2019.

Saturday’s show is headlined by Conor Benn vs Adrian Granados, and also features Xu Can defending his WBA featherweight title against Leigh Wood, and Tommy McCarthy and Chris Billam-Smith facing off for the European, British, Commonwealth cruiserweight titles.
