Saturday’s pickings just got even slimmer, as heavyweight veteran Gerald Washington has been pulled from his PBC on FOX main event opposite Michael Coffie after testing positive for COVID.

Keith Idec first reported the development earlier today.

In his place steps Jonathan Rice (13-6-1, 9 KO), reeling from consecutive losses to Demsey McKean and Efe Ajagba. Well-traveled veteran Washington (20-4-1, 13 KO) would have at least been an interesting challenge for the late-blooming Coffie (12-0, 9 KO), who’s coming off a dominant thrashing of Darmani Rock, but the same can’t be said for Rice.

The rest of the three-fight broadcast will see Vito Mielnicki Jr. look to avenge his first pro loss against James Martin and Joey Spencer square off with Dan Karpency. The postlims notably feature Paul Kroll against Justin DeLoach and Andre Dirrell continuing his light heavyweight comeback against Christopher Brooker.
