Robert Easter Jr has been formally charged with misdemeanor battery in Ohio stemming from an incident on Saturday night as is being reported by ESPN. Easter has been accused of striking a woman and knocking her unconscious, with a police officer observing the woman with a chipped tooth as well as a split lip.

Easter has pleaded not guilty in Toledo Municipal Court and has been released pending trial, while the alleged victim has been given a order of protection from Easter.

The former IBF lightweight champion last fought in February, outpointing Ryan Martin for his second straight win since going to a split draw with Rances Barthelemy in early 2019. He won the IBF lightweight belt in 2016, beating Richard Commey via controversial decision, and lost that title to Mikey Garcia in 2018. The 30-year-old Easter, who fights under the Premier Boxing Champions banner, is not currently scheduled for his next bout at this time.
