Ok, YouTube fans! Ahead of Showtime’s August 29th PPV card headlined by Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley, the network releases its first full official installment of All Access, following both men behind the scenes as they prepare for the impending battle.
The first episode starts off with clips of the opening press conference where Paul and Woodley made a bet for the loser to tattoo the winner’s name on their body. From there we transition to Paul’s homestate of Ohio where Paul’s mother shares her perspective on her son’s flamboyant and antagonistic personality, likening it to a role an actor plays in a movie while suggesting that Paul really doesn’t want the world to hate him.
“I think I’m looked at as the villain but I don’t care about people’s perception of me,” Paul would say. I purposely misunderstood. Like I lean into it. I think that’s why people want to see me get knocked out.”
Soon after we get a quick look at Paul in training camp under the guidance of BJ Flores and J’Leon Love. And while talking about his passion for boxing, Paul shares a perspective not often heard in this particular sport with Paul saying his fame and fortune at a young age was leading him towards a dead end, crediting boxing as being the thing that saved him by giving him purpose and a routine. Normally we hear of fighters who came from nothing and literally had to fight their way out of poverty, so this is an interesting juxtaposition to say the least.
Next we take a peak inside the training camp of Tyron Woodley who goes down memory lane for a couple of minutes before discussing his motivation to enter the sport of boxing at this point. Woodley is still very confident in his fighting ability and says he’ll be looking to demonstrate exactly that in his fight with Paul.
