The undercard for Sunny Edwards first IBF flyweight title defense against Jayson Mama on September 11 is beginning to take shape. Queensberry Promotions announced the return of light-heavyweight contender Callum Johnson (19-1, 14 KO) against Serbian opponent Marko Nikolic (27-1, 12 KO).
Nikolic is coming off an upset loss on home turf to Sergei Gorokhov (11-3-2, 7 KO), and unfortunately for him is being matched much tougher this time around. Johnson is in search of his third straight win since suffering the first defeat of his career against Artur Beterbiev in 2018.
Also on the card and looking to rebuild after a tough loss is Denzel Bentley (14-1, 12 KO), who is scheduled to face journeyman Andrew Robinson (24-5-1, 7 KO). Bentley was stopped in the third round of his last fight against fellow prospect Felix Cash. Robinson has lost all of his bouts against decent domestic opposition, so this matchup should provide Bentley with a safe opportunity to work on some of the flaws that were exposed against Cash.
Several unbeaten (and one debuting) prospects will appear further down the undercard, against opponents who will be announced a little closer to fight night. They include lightweights Mark Chamberlain (8-0, 5 KO) and Charles Frankham (3-0, 1 KO), super-featherweights Ryan Garner (10-0, 6 KO) and Masood Abdulah (1-0), super-bantamweight Umar Khan (1-0), cruiserweight Ellis Zorro (9-0, 4 KO), and welterweight Khalid Ali.
