Lara vs Warrington 2, Katie Taylor, PBC, more: Boxing TV schedule for September 4-5, 2021

Josh Warrington looks for revenge, Katie Taylor returns, and more.

Mark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

Saturday, September 4

DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Maurico Lara vs Josh Warrington 2, Katie Taylor vs Jennifer Han, Conor Benn vs Adrian Granados, Jovanni Straffon vs Maxi Hughes. The big sleeper fight here is Straffon-Hughes, which could be terrific. Hughes is on the run of his pro career right now, and Straffon made a big splash smashing James Tennyson last time out. Lara-Warrington 2 has real potential for action, too; we have to expect Josh Warrington is going to come prepared and with everything he’s got, because Lara bashed him last time out in a big upset. Taylor defends her undisputed 135 lb title against Han, and Benn takes on Granados in their rescheduled bout. Bad Left Hook will have live coverage.

FITE, 8:00 pm ET, Cletus Seldin vs Victor Vazquez. This is the 39th edition of Star Boxing’s “Rockin’ Fights” series, with Seldin back in his familiar position of likely beating up Some Dude at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. It’s a $20 PPV, but hey, it’s out there.

Sunday, September 5

FOX, 8:00 pm ET, Jesus Ramos vs Brian Mendoza, Starling Castillo vs Juan Carlos Burgos, Armando Resendiz vs Marcos Hernandez. Underwhelming for the original idea of “PBC on FOX,” but at this point, the original idea is long dead. This has some well-matched fights between prospects and veterans, and on paper, I think it’s a good show. I mean, I’ll take this over garbage mismatches pitting “names” against no-hopers any day of the week. Plus the Minneapolis crowd are always good. Bad Left Hook will have live coverage.
